Beside it with IE -d- a.o. OWNo. stertr m. `bird's tail', OHG a. NHG Sterz. Further forms w. lit. in Bq and WP 2, 630, Pok. 1023f. -- Finally to στερεός etc. (s. v.). -- No doubt a Pre-Greek word.
